  1. To INSTALL OUR ELECTRONIC BOOK  >>>  DO THE FOLLOWING:

  3. Depending on how you got the file, you need to make a sub
  4. directory and copy either the 'zip' file which contains
  5. all the files necessary to read this book, or all the 
  6. files that you got on the disk in any form that you got
  7. it.  (Every distribution channel is different.)
  8.  
  9. But most likely you got it as a zip file so 
  10.  
  11. 1. Copy the 'Zip' file to a place on your hard drive.
  12. 2.  Make a subdir e.g.  MD\VERBON  OR MD\EBOOK
  13. 3.   Copy the zip file to this subdir.  eg. 
  14.        e.g.  'Copy filename.zip \Verbon'
  15. 4. Unzip it.
  16. 5. Type 'BEGIN'
  17.  
  18. The free portion of the book will be available to read.
  19.  
  20. PLEASE NOTE:  We are using a new method of encryping our
  21.               book, called SOFTLOCK, so that we can reward      
  22.               our authors sufficiently so that they will
  23.               continue to write good books for us.

  25. SO, if you like the Free portion of this book WHICH INCLUDES
  26.     UP TO PART ONE.  Then, you will want to purchase the 
  27.     rest.  The rest of this book will be de-encrypted when
  28.     you call 800-SOFTLOCK with two pieces of information:
  29.     A.  The product number = in this case = 10031
  30.     B.  The SOFTLOCK ID.  
  31.         You can see the SOFTLOCK ID, by TYPING 'SOFTLOCK' 
  32.         at the DOS prompt where you put these files.

  34. When you have these two pieces of info, call the 800# and
  35. key in these two numbers and the automated process will
  36. give you a PASSWORD that you type at the DOS PROMPT and
  37. the book will be de-encrypted and you may read the rest.
  38. (YOU WILL ALSO NEED A CREDIT CARD TO PURCHASE THIS WAY.)

  40. AFTER YOU GET YOUR PASSWORD ON THE PHONE:
  41.  
  42. Type: 'READ PASSWORD' Password will be your Password.
  43.  
  44. Then, the book will be de-encrypted and all parts are 
  45. readable to you.
  46.  
  47. But the encrypted parts of the book will not de-encrypt 
  48. until you've paid for the book.
  49.  
  50. We apologize for making you go through all this effort
  51. but when you go to a bookstore, you don't stand there and
  52. read the whole book for free.  You browse, which is what
  53. we allow you to do here and then you make the decision
  54. to buy it or not.  That's what this SOFTLOCK process
  55. does for us.  If our authors are never compensated, they
  56. cannot write good books for us.

  58. If you cannot get the book this way, you may get it 
  59. by USING THE CATALOG AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MENU AND JUST
  60.    FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING WITH OR WITHOUT
  61.    A CREDIT CARD.
